Founded in 1953 by Graham Woodmansterne, the company has evolved from publishing the first colour photographs of Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation to becoming a pioneer in British design and quality within the greeting card industry, under the leadership of the second generation, Paul Woodmansterne.

The company strives to design products that feed the soul, lift the spirit, and reflect British culture, whether through the magic of Quentin Blake’s illustrations, the distinctive patterns of Emma Bridgewater, or the sophistication of Sanderson’s heritage designs.

Now led by the third generation, Seth Woodmansterne, the company supplies around 30 million greeting cards each year from its Watford site and Milton Keynes distribution centre, one of the greenest warehouses in the UK.

Sustainability is at the heart of Woodmansterne’s operations. The company only uses environmentally accredited materials and has eliminated all plastic packaging from its products, both at retail and in shipping. The majority of the products are proudly made in the UK at The Croxley Press, their award-winning in-house printing facility, or manufactured by European and Far East suppliers who meet rigorous environmental and ethical standards.
