Toni’s Trek: Walking Together, Remembering Toni, and Raising £65,000

In June 2025, our community came together for something truly special: Toni’s Trek, the CardGains Charity Challenge 2025.

The event saw participants take on a 25-mile walk through and around Birmingham, united by a shared purpose — to honour the memory of Toni Cresswell and to raise vital funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

Remembering Toni

Toni’s Trek was dedicated to Toni Cresswell, who sadly passed away on 25th September 2024 after a very short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Toni spent over 28 years in the greeting card industry and was a much-loved, passionate and brilliant Product Manager at Emotional Rescue. She was known for her caring nature, her infectious smile, and her genuine interest in others — always checking in, always offering support. Toni’s kindness and warmth left a lasting impression, and her loss has left a huge hole not only within Emotional Rescue, but across the wider industry.

The Challenge

The walk took place on Thursday 26th June 2025, bringing together colleagues, friends, and supporters who gave their time, energy, and generosity in Toni’s memory.

Pancreatic cancer remains one of the toughest cancer challenges. It is difficult to diagnose, hard to treat, challenging to research, and devastating for those affected. That’s why we were so proud to support Pancreatic Cancer UK, an organisation working tirelessly to ensure that everyone diagnosed has the chance to survive and live long, fulfilling lives.

Funds raised through Toni’s Trek will help drive vital research breakthroughs, campaign for improvements in treatment and care, and provide crucial support to patients and families when they need it most.

An Incredible Result

On Monday 2nd February 2026, we had the absolute pleasure of presenting a cheque to Pancreatic Cancer UK at the CardGains Village at Spring Fair — announcing that an incredible £65,000 had been raised through Toni’s Trek.

This remarkable total is a true reflection of what can be achieved when our community comes together. From fundraising and donating, to walking every mile and cheering others on along the way, the support shown was nothing short of inspiring.

We didn’t just reach our target — we smashed it, together.
